Ms. Stocker has over 12 years experience in nursing management, quality improvement, health care informatics, and outcomes measurement. She teaches graduate level courses to nursing and health service administration students on quality improvement, patient outcomes management, nursing informatics, and management of health systems.
She has recently conducted research regarding the measurement of nursing sensitive patient outcomes in seven different home health care agencies throughout Michigan. She has also worked on the development of the Hands-On Nursing Data System (HANDS), an automated nurse care planning system that collects nursing data using the standardized nursing terminologies including NANDA nursing diagnoses, Nursing Interventions Classification (NIC), and Nursing Outcomes Classification (NOC). She previously worked on the NIH funded research project to test the reliability and validity of the NOC in settings across the health care continuum.
Ms. Stocker has served as Director of Nursing at two Visiting Nurse Associations. She has also held positions in quality improvement and reimbursement review in home health care.
Clients
Ms. Stocker has consulted for the Michigan Peer Review Organization in their successful bid as one of five state peer review organizations selected by CMS to pilot the Outcome and Assessment Information Set (OASIS) Outcome Based Quality Improvement Training Program for home health care agencies.
Education
SHe earned a Doctor of Philosophy in Nursing from the University of Michigan, with a research focus in the measurement of outcomes of home health care nursing. She also holds a Masters Degree in Community Health Nursing with a Minor in Nursing Administration from the University of California San Francisco.
