Marty Diamond

Expertise/Experience/Background

Marty Diamond is a nationally recognized health care leader whose experience spans the health care industry. He has led several hospitals and served in senior leadership roles in multi-institutional systems, managed care organizations, academic medical centers and leading community hospitals. Marty is recognized for his work as a coach, turn-around specialist, strategist and visionary.

Marty’s experience includes leadership responsibility for change management, quality improvement, mergers, acquisitions, and business start-ups. He is regarded as a thought-leader and, consequently, is an invited speaker, lecturer, and author of articles and case studies. Marty has chaired many health care bodies, most recently, the American Hospital Associations Metropolitan Hospitals Governing Council.

He serves on two committees of the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations: Sentinel Event Advisory Committee and Hospital Advisory Council.

Marty is a Senior Fellow at the Center for the Health Professions at the University of California San Francisco. In this role, he directs coaching services for the Center’s Pharmacy Leadership Program and serves as a coach for their CHCF Leadership Program. Marty serves on the Advisory Boards of Concuity, a venture funded information services company as well as Practice Fusion, creators of an on-demand ASP Healthcare Practice product.

He is an honorary life-time Trustee of Mount Zion Medical Center.

Education

He earned a Masters degree in hospital management from Columbia University and is a Fellow in the American College of Health Care Executives.
