Guy retired from General Motors in 2006 as Group Vice President of North American Manufacturing and Labor Relations and member of GM’s North American Strategy Board.
Guy began his career at GM after graduating from the University of Michigan with a Bachelor's Degree in Economics and an M.B.A. in 1961. He held several different supervisory and management positions at the Flint Manufacturing Plant, Saginaw Parts Plant, Saginaw Manufacturing Plant, Saginaw Grey Iron Casting Plant and as Plant Manager at Parma Pressed Metal Plant and the Chevrolet Flint Engine Plant.
Following these plant assignments, Guy served as Regional Manufacturing Manager and Acting General Manufacturing Manager for Chevrolet, Manufacturing Manager for the CPC Group, and Vice President of Manufacturing Operations for Saturn. In 1991, Guy was elected to be Vice President of GM and Group Director of Operations for the Truck Group, then General Manager of the Truck Group, General Manager of Vehicle Manufacturing, and Vice President of Manufacturing.
Guy also serves as a member and Vice Chair Person of the Flint Bishop International Airport Authority Board of Directors, as an advisor to the CKGP PW & Associates, Inc. Board of Directors, as a member of the Oakland County Traffic Improvement Association Board of Directors and as Board Member of the Flint Area Tall Pine Council of the Boy Scouts of America. |
